Because anxiety, <\/i>my dear friend.<\/i> The pressure sets up fences. I need the practice. This is a good way to get it. I know I\u2019m just\u00a0\u201cthrowing these words away,\u201d and it doesn\u2019t matter. I know that going in and it\u2019s a-okay. I can experiment and try new things and murder my darlings as much as I need to, \u2018cause it\u2019s not going to an agent or editor anyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Because fun. <\/i>It\u2019s not about the money. Sometimes I just really want to write because it\u2019s hella entertaining, and pre-existing works present unique challenges (\u201dhow do I write a story with what we\u2019ve been given, since the original writer really screwed x, y, z up? HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS IN CONTEXT AND FILL IN THE GAPS?\u201d), and hey, a built-in audience to throw it to for feedback and critique certainly doesn\u2019t hurt at all.\u00a0<\/p>\n
