For example, Mad Max: Fury Road. The only thing I\u2019ve seen on Tumblr is that the main characters are female. Like good for them, but the story? Is it good? Anything other than \u201cthe girls are leading\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the same thing for musicians, I\u2019ve seen posts like \u201c[artist] is a biracial bisexual feminist\u201d or whatever, but what about the music? Is it good? Anything other than \u201cshe\u2019s a feminist\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Just\u2026you can\u2019t judge how good a movie or artist is based on those factors.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>AGREED.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, Fury Road was genuinely fun all around. It was a fantastic chronological\/spiritual successor to the previous films, boasted incredible cinematography and effects, with good, tight, writing. It was everything an updated 80s (well, \u201879 and on) dystopian film should be.<\/p>\n<p>But yeah, seriously. I\u2019m all for spreading support for the underdog, but that alone does not a good film\/book\/music\/etc make.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>(Conversely, people are allowed to like media that is good regardless of how terrible the creator is\/was.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>blink-189: Okay, I have a problem with the way Tumblr tries to promote movies or artists.
