Things like this scare the shit out of me. <br \/>\nYes a parent should be protective. No they should not STALK their child. <br \/>\nYes a parent can get upset at a child. No they should not flip out or let their anger make them out of control, or take out their anger on their child. <br \/>\nYes a parent can lecture and maybe the kid feels like their parent is driving them crazy &#8211; but after the last two statements forgive me if I don\u2019t exactly trust these definitions. <br \/>\nA parent should never be their child\u2019s worst nightmare. A pain sometimes, ok, but not a nightmare. <br \/>\nAnd the idea of a parent \u201cstalking\u201d and \u201chunting down\u201d their child is horrifying. If you were a good parent, maybe your child would have communicated whereabouts upfront with you already. <br \/>\nAnd the last statement is the worst. \u201cI will subject you to terror and treat you like my property\u2026. Because I love you!\u201d No one would ever put up with this from a partner, a friend, even a grandparent\u2026. Why is it suddenly okay from a parent?<\/p>\n<p>Fuck toxic parenting.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That graphic is basically acting like emotional and psychological abuse is okay as long as it\u2019s framed as \u201cit\u2019s because I love you.\u201d Which is basically part of the abuse cycle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>parents can easily be some of the most frightening kinds of human beings alive and some of them take the deepest pride in being their kids\u2019 worst nightmare\u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The ninth level of hell with Dr. Laura.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I can\u2019t believe it literally says that parents can\u2019t be friends with their kids.That\u2019s literally the most important thing for a healthy relationship.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>splishsplishimafish: avatar-dacia: moonbow-gem: samrgarrett: recreationalcannibalism: I hate this.
